Windows Vista Compatibility Issues!!For all current users, the version of the AT Mate (version 1.0 on CD-Rom) sold by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, can NOT be installed on Windows Vista equipped PC's. You must purchase version 2 (only available currently from this web-site as an on-line download) in order to be able to install the AT Mate on a computer with Windows Vista. Follow the instructions below for downloading the free trial version and and purchasing the activation key. For all Version 2 AT Mate users, it appears that Microsoft has abandoned their traditional Help file format. For this reason, the Help file included currently with the AT Mate 2 download will not display correctly. To correct this issue, you can download a special update file that will install a new Help file that will display correctly. Please note that any AT Mate Help file shortcut (from your start menu, etc.) should be manually deleted. Microsoft also offers information to download special patches that can re-enable the older help file format viewer (since this omission affects Windows applications) but the process was not as straightforward or fool-proof as just providing a newer version of the file for my users. To download your Help File update, visit our download page.
